Day 1: Delhi – Manali

Today arrive Manali - Surrounded by high peaks in the beautiful green valley of the Beas River, with mountain adventures beckoning from all directions, Manali is a year-round magnet. Backpackers come to hang out in the hippie villages around the main town; adventurers come for trekking, climbing, mountain biking, canyoning, paragliding, rafting and skiing. Arrive & check in, overnight stay at manali.

Day 2: Manali

After breakfast rest of the time is free for leisure activities or you can even take a tour to major attractions of Manali like Hadimba Devi temple, Vashisht Hot Springs, Club house, etc. An overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 3: Manali – Sarchu (04 hrs)

Today morning after breakfast drive to Sarchu via Rohtang Pass & Baralacha. This is the beginning of our exciting trip which passes through the mountains and moves into the lap of the Himalaya. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 3: Sarchu – Leh (02 hrs)

Today we will leave early morning for a drive to Leh. It gives you the exciting feel of driving in the high Tibetan Plateau. Climbing a series of Galta loops which are comprised of 22 hairpin bends come out in Pang valley. Reach to the other side of Pang, Tzanspo River to continue driving on another plateau. Drive towards Moore plains. Moore Plains is the highest of the Tibetan Plateau reaching at a height of 4200 Mts. Continue driving on the Tanglang La (5280 Mts.) which offers breath taking views of the Zanskar range. Further a pleasant drive of around 20 Km brings you close to the Ladakhi hamlet. Passing through a few more villages you would reach the magnificent Indus River. Continue driving to Leh town, overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Leh – Shey – Thiksey – Hemis (02 hrs)

Today we will go for a sightseeing trip to explore the famous monasteries of this area. Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. The main attraction of Shey is the 12m high statue of Shakyamuni Buddha which is installed inside the Dresthang Gompa. Thiksey Gompa, close to Shey is about 17 kms from Leh. Hemis is around 45 km south of Leh and claimed to be one of the most famous and largest monastery in Ladakh. Overnight stay at the guest house.

Day 5: Leh - Tsokar – Tsomoriri (06 hrs)

Today we will start early for Tsokar. En-route, we will come across Tanglangla and part of the Changthang plateau called More Plains. Spend some time at Tsokar and head to Karzok. Spend the night at Karzok.

Day 6: Tsomoriri – Shakti (05 hrs)

Go exploring the areas close to the lake. You might get to see high altitude wildlife such as bar-headed geese, Tibetan wild ass, snow fox etc.

Day 7: Shakti – Pangong (04 hrs)

Follow the route to Pangong Lake which runs over the Changla pass. Overnight at Spangmik on the banks of the lake.

Day 8: Pangong – Leh (05 hrs)

Come back to Leh. You are free to explore the region for the rest of the day.

Day 9: Leh - Diskit via Khardung La (08 hrs)

Leave early morning for Nubra (7 hrs drive). From Khardung la, drive to the village of Khardung. Further you will come across the stunningly beautiful countryside to the TCP at Khalsar. In Khalsar your permits have to be registered/checked. Take turn to the left of Shyok River and drive for around 15 miles over a narrow steep road. Arrive Diskit where you have to stay overnight in camps.

Day 10: Diskit – Leh (03 hrs)

Post breakfast, drive down towards Shyok River. You will drive through a rough and rock-strewn flat ground. Crossing the bridge arrive at the first village of Tirith. Drive towards Panamik where the spectacular views of the snow-capped Karakoram Mountains will mesmerise you. Visit the 150 years old Samasthanling Gompa at Bumur/Khagar. You need to walk half an hour from the Samasthanling to Tegar village where you will find another small Gompa. Explore the surroundings of the village on foot. You will also find a small lake there. Once you are done, transfer to Leh (106.8 miles). Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 11: Departure

After breakfast transfer to Leh airport for onward destination.
