Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Upon arrival you will be welcomed by our representative & transferred to hotel. Delhi - capital of modern India. Many dynasties and rulers have flourished on its regal soil over the last 3000 years. The legacy still survives in many monuments varying from the 13th century mausoleum of the Lodi Kings to the buildings of British India's imperial past like the Parliament House and the Presidential Estate. Day 02: Delhi tour
Today proceed on a tour of Old Delhi, visit the Red Fort, Raj Ghat - a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, Ashoka Pillar and the mile-long Chandni Chowk bazaar. Later tour New Delhi, drive along Rajpath the capital’s broadest avenue, for a view of the Parliament House, the President’s House and India Gate. Visit the Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar and Birla Temple. Evening is at leisure. Overnight at Delhi.
Day 03: Drive Delhi to Jaisalmer (766 km) 11to12 hrs.
Today we drive to the Golden City of Jaisalmer - awaits you with desert fortress whose stone ramparts glint like gold by the setting sun. A city that is unrivalled in its magic, romance & exotic beauty. Upon arrival check in. Overnight at Jaisalmer.
Day 04: Jaisalmer tour
Morning tour of Jaisalmer Fort, built in 1156 by Rawal Jaisal, the fort crowns 80 meter high on the Trikuta hill. Still inhabited, there are palaces and bazaars with in the fort walls, which have 99 bastions around the circumference. Also visit the Havelis, wealthy merchants built these exquisite havelis with profusely carved stone facades. The famous ones are the Patwon ki Haveli, Salim Singh ki Haveli and Nathmal ki Haveli. Post lunch proceed to the Sam Sand Dunes, experience a camel safari and gaze the sunset overlooking the golden sands. The ripples on the wind-caressed dunes and the numerous musicians and dancers are a photographer’s delight. Overnight at Jaisalmer.
Day 05: Drive Jaisalmer to Jodhpur (286 km) 4 to 5 hrs.
After breakfast we drive to Jodhpur - known as the blue city, this land of royalty is a glittering jewel set in the golden sands of barren desert landscape. The light that reflects of the golden sands engulf a land renowned for its vibrant colors, people in the bright clothes and beautiful jewelry, living in city dotted and dominated by towering fort and palaces that rise from sand like a mirage. On arrival check in. Later proceed on tour of Meherangarh Fort with its graceful palaces, a spectacular setting for the rich past and culture of the imperial city. Jaswant Thada - a white marble memorial built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant II in 1899. Umaid Bhawan Palace - made of marble and pink sandstone, the construction of the Umaid Bhawan started in 1929 and it took 16 years to complete it. It is believed that the palace was constructed to give employment to the famine-struck population. Overnight at Jodhpur.
Day 06: Drive Jodhpur to Udaipur (267km) 4 to 5 hrs
Proceed to Udaipur city tour. Visiting Fateh Sagar, Maharana Pratap Memorial, take a photo stop at Nehru Garden, Sehelion- KI-Bari - Queen’s resort for their friends, Sukhadia Circle (Drive Pass),Bhartiya Lok kala Museum - a museum of folk and art, it displays a rich collection of folk dresses, ornaments, puppets, masks, dolls, Jagdish Temple – built by Maharana agat Singh and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu & Gulaab Baugh. Day 07: Drive Udaipur to Jaipur (425 km) 7 to 8 hrs.
This morning drive to Jaipur - The capital of Rajasthan, this picturesque city is a symphony in pink, a color which signifies hospitality in Rajput culture. Built by Raja Jai Singh in the 18th century, it is surrounded by hills topped with rugged fortresses and dotted with fairy tale palaces. Ambling camels and brightly dressed locals, reflect Jaipur’s desert heritage while the teeming markets display a profusion of handlooms and crafts. Come visit the city of love, legends and lore. Upon arrival check in at hotel. Time for leisure. Evening is free to explore the local bazaars. Overnight stay at Jaipur.
Day 08: Tour Jaipur
Morning, proceed for an excursion to Amber Fort - the original Palace was built by Raja Mansingh and later additions were made by Sawai Jai Singh. One of the finest example of Rajput architecture. Enjoy the ascent to the Palace on the back of a brightly caparisoned elephant. Visit the multiple chambers and hallways of the palace which are famous for their design and decorations. Afternoon, proceed for a city tour to visit the unique Jantar Mantar, which is a magnificent stone observatory built by Raja Jai Singh in 1728 and drive past the Hawa Mahal, an intriguing “Palace of Winds”. This was really a facade built in 1799, to allow royal ladies to view the city from the windows. Later visit the opulent City Palace, the former royal residence built in a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal style which has grand museums displaying an excellent collection of miniature paintings, costumes and armory. Day 09: After breakfast drive to Agra (228 km) 4 to 5 hrs.
After breakfast drive to Agra - in the 16th and 17th centuries was the capital of Moghul India and its superb monuments date from that era. It has a magnificent fort and the building which so many people come to India solely to see - the Taj Mahal. Enroute visit Emperor Akbar’s 16th century abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri. This ghost town is remarkably well preserved and presents a perfect synthesis of Muslim, Hindu and Jain architecture. The sculptured columns bear mute testimony to this gallant experiment to unite Hindus and Muslims. Continue your drive and check in. Overnight at Agra.
